Comfort, Professionalism and Respect
In March 2011, HealthSouth Reading Rehabilitation Hospital implemented the AIDET program designed by Quint Studer. The program is a powerful reminder to hospital staff that we as clinicians and employees make a direct impact on our patient’s lives every day. Our job is to guide a patient through a difficult time and return them home as quickly as possible.

When patients arrive to our facility they look to us to provide excellent care and help in an uncertain time. AIDET is used to reduce the anxiety of patients visiting our hospital. By hospital staff greeting patients and introducing themselves, giving the approximate amount of time for testing and procedures, explaining what will happen and thanking patients for choosing us to take care of them, patients anxiety will be reduced and their satisfaction will increase.
Since the implementation of this program there has been a substantial increase in patient satisfaction and a reduction of patient anxiety.
